Born and raised in a small town near the Adirondacks, Rachael is a lifelong book lover. As a child, she spent many summer days reading, despite her sister’s repeated attempts to get her to play (still happens today, tbh).
After earning degrees in English/Creative Writing and Studio Art at SUNY Geneseo, Rachael moved to New York City and worked at O, The Oprah Magazine. Tempted by the better coast, Rachael moved to San Francisco and worked at Chronicle Books, where she fell in love with publishing, and Harry’s Bar, where she learned the fine art of dealing with drunk people. In 2014, Rachael found her way to Workman Publishing and has been there ever since. As an editor, she is passionate about discovering talented illustrators and authors and collaborating with them to develop beautiful, charming, and creatively packaged products. She specializes in illustrated gift books, calendars, and stationery. To read more about her editorial process, check out this interview. |
